Buy Local - North West Food and Drink

Information for Exhibitors

The Buy Local 2008 exhibition has now finished. However, plans are now being discussed with a view to holding the event again at a location within the North West.

If you are a local producer and you would like to contribute any ideas or suggestions for future Buy Local events, please contact project partners, Nimtech, on 01925 273270, or alternatively, get in touch with your food producer's association. You can find details on our Contact page.

The Buy Local event is designed to bring together regional food and drink producers with local businesses. It is aimed primarily at the hospitality and catering industries - restaurants, hotels, pubs, guesthouses, supermarket buyers and independent caterers.

The event targets all of the North West, which constitutes a large and well developed market. The hotel and catering trade in Blackpool alone spends in excess of £30 million per annum on food and drink.

Moreover, sustainable tourism is an important theme across the wider region, and the organisers have worked with hundreds of hospitality and tourism businesses that recognise the commercial and environmental benefits of buying direct from local suppliers.

NIMTECH, the Chamber of Commerce and, of course, Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board have been working with the region's hospitality businesses for many years and are actively encouraging them to adopt a 'buy local' policy.

A list of exhibitors at the 2008 Buy Local event can be found here.
